Its Never Too Late to Test Your AP Long Essay
It's Never Too Late to Test Your AP Long EssayA professor, you'll recall, was irritated at a student who had written an essay on 'The Economics of Hollywood.' For the professor, that student's essay would have had a 'fair' grade. But in a college board meeting, that same student got a 'zero.'At that college board meeting, that same student was denied a place on the college's roll. He was never seen again in that college's halls. Those same rules apply to students who make no attempt to pass their AP examinations. For students who think that the answer is to come to college and make something up as you go along--they will be met with the same fate.In fact, those students may have made a series of mistakes. Or perhaps the answer they found, which they thought was an AP essay, might actually be a lower-level coursework. It is never too late to find out what your current AP exam results are, but it is never too early to make changes. There's a fair value for a school's AP coursework. It i s worth the money and the time to test this. It is important that a student who is very good at writing has no trouble passing his or her AP exams. It's not too late to test the AP and find out if you're getting a fair value for the AP coursework you've devoted years to. Just ask yourself these questions: How much has your AP exam class cost you? Did you make enough progress on the coursework to justify taking an additional semester to finish it?Are you tired of writing about one subject? Do you have a dozen papers to write in different subjects? Do you have to put a title on the last page and a year on the first page? Do you have to reprint your papers on a regular basis? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then it's time to turn in your AP papers to the college board. Your career is in your hands.
